What's the difference between inbound marketing vs. outbound marketing?

You'll notice that most of these, like the Yellow Pages, have gone by way of the dinosaur. Others are forms of what we like to call "interruption marketing," because they interrupt you when you're probably not interested in or receptive to the message (see the above sales funnel).

Outbound marketing may create general awareness. But inbound marketing captures a lead at the point when they are further down the funnel - at the point when they want to purchase your product or service and are ready to take action!

What Is Inbound Marketing?
Inbound marketing operates on the principle that when your customers are ready to buy, they'll look for your products and services using a search engine. Google is by far the most popular, with about two-thirds of the search volume, and people also use Bing and Yahoo for search.
